Health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs)
If you are an active U.S.-based mainline team member, the transition of your HRA and your RHRA to Fidelity is now complete. Your HRA rollover credits are now accessible at Fidelity and your RHRA balance will be available for eligible expenses when you retire.
There was no action required on your part to transition your HRA or your RHRA to Fidelity. However, if you elected the Plus medical option for 2024, you will need to complete your annual preventive exam to receive your $500 in credits to spend on eligible medical expenses.
If you are a COBRA participant, including retirees on COBRA before Jan. 1, 2024, your RHRA transitioned to Fidelity as of Jan.11, 2024.
What's new
Your debit card
You were mailed a new debit card, the NetBenefits AccessCard®, as part of this transition to Fidelity. This special-purpose Visa® debit card provides an easy way to pay for eligible expenses. The same card gives you access to your HRA credits (and your RHRA credits when you retire) and, if applicable, to any other spending account funds you may have (except the commuter account and dependent care flexible spending account). When you use your NetBenefits AccessCard® to pay for eligible expenses, the amount is automatically deducted from the appropriate spending account. The card was mailed to you in December 2023 for use starting Jan. 11, 2024, following the transition blackout period. You also can request additional cards for eligible family members once you have activated your card.
Your contact for account support
The service center you’ve come to rely on for your American Airlines-sponsored 401(k) and pension is now here to help you with your spending accounts: the American Airlines Service Center at Fidelity at 800-354-3412. You can also use the online live chat feature on NetBenefits® to get support for your accounts.
Your online account access
As of Jan. 1, 2024, you were able to access your accounts online at NetBenefits (netbenefits.com/aa), where you can try new planning tools. Fidelity also offers an easy-to-use NetBenefits app for your phone or tablet that you can download from the Apple App Store® or Google PlayTM.
